Attend Balancing AI and Human Expertise During Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions

Tuesday, Oct 149:45 AM - 10:35 AM CDT

Mackenzie Higgins and Candice Neisen

As healthcare organizations merge, managing patient identity and data integrity becomes increasingly complex. This session will explore the Health Information Professional’s role in data conversion, focusing on key pre-conversion steps, including extract specifications, record retention, and testing strategies. Attendees will learn about the challenges of duplicate records, effective patient matching, and the risks of over-relying on AI, with a focus on best practices for data accuracy and compliance during M&A transitions. Interactive exercises will provide real-world insights into maintaining data integrity and resolving duplicates in M&A scenarios.

Learning Outcome #1 : Identify key pre-conversion steps, including extract specifications, record retention considerations, and testing strategies.

Learning Outcome #2: Analyze data integrity challenges, duplicate record rates, and effective patient matching/linking methodologies.

Learning Outcome #3: Explore the risks of over-relying on AI and learn how human oversight improves patient matching accuracy.
